The Multatuli Museum is dedicated to Multatuli, the pen name of Eduard Douwes Dekker, author of the famous 19th-century novel Max Havelaar, a sharp critique of Dutch colonial rule. The museum is in the house where he was born, in a narrow lane off the Singel, and hosts exhibitions and events.
Opening hours: Friday 10:00–17:00, Saturday and Sunday 12:00–17:00. Closed on public holidays.
