The Amsterdam Tulip Museum tells the story of the tulip and its role in Dutch history and culture, in a canal house in the Jordaan opposite the Anne Frank House and the Westerkerk.
Six connected rooms follow the tulip over more than 400 years: from its origins in Central Asia and the Ottoman Empire, through its arrival in Amsterdam in the late 16th century and the Tulip Mania of the 1630s, to modern bulb growing. Photos, videos, interactive displays and historical objects bring the story to life, and all texts are in English. A short visit takes 20–25 minutes.
The museum shop sells tulip-themed gifts and seasonal bulbs.
Opening hours: daily, 10:00–18:00, except 27 April and 25 December. The Museumkaart is not accepted, and the historic building is not wheelchair accessible.
