Café Van Puffelen has welcomed guests on the Prinsengracht, by the Nine Streets, for more than 40 years. It combines an intimate restaurant, a cosy brown café and a canal-side terrace for lunch; you can even moor your boat outside and pick up snacks. The menu mixes Dutch, French, Italian and Asian influences.
Groups of 10 to 150 are welcome, with a private room on the mezzanine. Book online for up to six people; email for larger groups. Trams 13 and 17 stop at Westermarkt, four minutes away.
