Hotel Aalders is a three-star hotel on the quiet Jan Luijkenstraat in the Museum Quarter, around the corner from the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, the Stedelijk and the Vondelpark. Its 33 rooms, each laid out differently, range from small singles and compact doubles to comfort and family rooms; some have a king-size bed.
Jelle’s Bar, named after the founder, is in the living room, and breakfast is served 07:00–10:00 in the original breakfast room on the first floor, once the Aalders family’s living room. Bus 397 from Schiphol and trams 2 and 24 from Centraal Station stop at Museumplein. Bikes can be rented.
