Eye Filmmuseum on the north bank of the IJ is dedicated to film and the art of the moving image. In its striking white building you can watch films in several cinemas, visit temporary and permanent exhibitions and discover film history. The collection includes more than 60,000 films.
The bar-restaurant with a large terrace on the water is a destination in itself. There are activities and films for children, especially on Sundays and in school holidays.
Getting there: take the free ferry from behind Centraal Station to Buiksloterweg; the museum is right next to the landing.
