The Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum is in a canal house on the Oudezijds Achterburgwal, in the middle of the Red Light District. It presents itself as the world’s first museum dedicated to cannabis.
The collection of rare objects, gathered worldwide by founder Ben Dronkers, covers the history and culture of the plant, from its use as a fibre and in medicine to its place in art and society. The museum opened in 1987 as the Cannabis Info Museum.
