La Bohème is a small, eco-conscious hotel in a listed building on the Marnixstraat, close to the Leidseplein, the Melkweg, Paradiso and the Concertgebouw. Its 18 simple, clean rooms (singles, twins, doubles and spacious triples) have a TV, safe, hairdryer and free Wi-Fi; almost all have a private shower and toilet. Street-side rooms overlook the lively Marnixstraat, rear rooms are quieter.
Coffee and tea are available all day at reception, which sells museum, transport and canal cruise tickets and books trips to fishing villages and the Zaanse Schans. Luggage storage is available. Steep stairs, no lift.
