Museum Ons’ Lieve Heer op Solder (Our Lord in the Attic) hides a complete 17th-century church in the attic of a canal house in the heart of the old centre, built when Catholics could not worship openly. You enter through a modern entrance building connected by an underground passage.
The historic house has many narrow, steep stairs, with chairs on several floors to rest; it has no lift. Visitors who cannot manage the stairs can join a virtual tour (CoVisit), best booked in advance. A free audio tour is available in nine languages, plus a children’s tour.
The café and shop in the entrance building are open without a ticket. Large bags are not allowed in the museum; use the lockers.
