The Venustempel Sex Museum explores the historical and artistic sides of sensual love. It opened in 1985 in a 17th-century building on the Damrak, a few minutes’ walk from Centraal Station.
The collection includes erotic sculptures, paintings, objects, sound recordings and photographs from many cultures and periods. The exhibition spreads across a front house and two rear houses, linked by rooms and corridors that form a small labyrinth.
