’t Zwaantje opened on the Berenstraat in the Nine Streets in 1973 as a brown café and now serves old-fashioned, typically Dutch food with a French touch: soups, grandma’s stew, chicken in the pan, pork satay, mussels, trout, schnitzel and tournedos, with desserts such as crème brûlée and warm apple pie. The interior keeps the style of old Amsterdam cafés, down to the rugs on the tables. Open daily 16:30–23:00.
