Mayur is a North Indian fine-dining restaurant on the Korte Leidsedwarsstraat, founded in 1981 by chef Pramod Sharma, who trained in Delhi and the United States; the next generation now helps run it. Expect traditional flavours, hand-picked spices, tandoori dishes and slow-cooked curries in an elegant room with linen-covered tables.
Guests are asked to order at least a starter and a main each. Children under 10 are generally not admitted to the fine-dining area. Parking at the nearby De Hoofdstad garage, about five minutes’ walk.
