Café Modern has occupied the former Twentsche Bank building in Amsterdam Noord since 2012. The kitchen cooks seasonal produce from local, small-scale suppliers into five-, six- or seven-course menus, with a three-course theatre menu on some evenings; at the bar you can order wine, oysters, cheese or a single dish. Weekend lunch from 12:00, and a large terrace from spring.
