The Nieuwe Kerk (New Church) stands on Dam Square next to the Royal Palace. The medieval church, where Dutch monarchs are inaugurated, is now a venue for exhibitions, lectures and concerts, so what you see depends on the current programme.
Booking a ticket and time slot online is recommended but not required. Payment is by card only. The exhibition spaces are wheelchair accessible.
Opening hours: daily, 10:00–17:00 (last entry 16:30). Closed on some days, including 27 April, 4–5 May, 25 December and 1 January: check the website.
Getting there: almost all trams from Centraal Station stop at Dam; metro 52 to Rokin. Free guarded bicycle parking (first 24 hours) at the Beursplein.
