Museum Amsterdam Noord tells the history of Amsterdam Noord through the stories of its residents, past and present. Permanent displays cover the history of the district, the garden village of Vogeldorp and its bathhouse, with changing exhibitions on topics from the area’s past, present and future.
The building is part of the story: the Vogeldorp bathhouse was built in 1919, when workers’ homes had no bathrooms. It closed in 1986, was restored by Stadsherstel and has housed the museum since 2009. The museum also organises cycling and walking tours.
