Het Schoolhuis is in a listed school building from 1875 in Holysloot, a village in Waterland just north of Amsterdam. The old classroom is the dining room, and the back terrace looks out over meadows towards the IJsselmeer dike. Come for breakfast, coffee and homemade cake, lunch or drinks all year round.
The Mediterranean-leaning kitchen follows the seasons with local and organic ingredients: antipasti, fresh pasta, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes. Groups of ten or more can book a bespoke dinner, and the space can be hired for events. A lovely stop on a cycling trip through Waterland.
